Random Phone Number Generator

Random Phone Number Generator (US)

Instant fake phone numbers in any format — for testing, demos, mock data, and fiction.

These numbers are randomly generated samples in valid US format. They are not checked against real assignments — do not use them to contact anyone or to defeat verification systems.

What is this random phone number generator for?

How the numbers are generated

US phone numbers follow the North American Numbering Plan (NANP): (NPA) NXX-XXXX — a 3-digit area code, a 3-digit exchange, and a 4-digit line number. The first digit of both the area code and the exchange must be 2–9 (never 0 or 1). This generator respects those rules, so every number looks valid to any format checker — but the full 7-digit combination is random, and we make no attempt to match numbers actually assigned to people. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

Picking a format

Use (555) 123-4567 for US-facing UI mockups, 5551234567 (plain) for database seeding and CSV imports, and +1 555 123 4567 (E.164-style) when testing international dialing or SMS APIs. The Copy All button copies one number per line, ready to paste into a spreadsheet.

Responsible use

Generated numbers are fictitious samples. Don't dial or text them, don't publish them as contact information, and don't use them to create accounts or bypass phone verification — that violates most services' terms and our Terms of Use. For guaranteed-fictional numbers in film or documentation, the classic 555-01XX exchange is also a safe choice.
